34 courses with the subject CSC, each shown exactly as we captured it from the college's catalog, with every element we hold. Where the wording looks broken, that is our reading of the catalog, not the college's text.
CSC 101Computer Science I (0,3)
Students will learn fundamental concepts of computing and programming, including algorithms, elementary data structures, data types, control structures, functions, and arrays. They will also gain experience in running, testing, and debugging programs. The course explores the ethical responsibilities of computing professionals and the societal impact of computing technologies, while providing historical and social context for the field. Lecture and laboratory.
CSC 116Introduction to Interactive Media and Game Development2
Introduction to software development and computational thinking by learning how to plan, design, implement and test multimedia applications, interactive stories, simulations, interactive art and computer games.
Introduction to basic terminology and applications of computers including: operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software.
CSC 118The Internet: Information Retrieval and Organization3
Basic concepts and usage of databases. Understanding and using the Internet with special emphasis on the use of search engines and directories to locate information. Using databases to organize information.
CSC 120Artificial Intelligence Literacy for the Future Professional (0,3)
This course equips students with the technical literacy, ethical awareness, and future-ready skills needed to thrive in an AI-driven world. Through hands-on exploration and critical inquiry, students will learn how artificial intelligence works, how to interact with it responsibly, and how to harness its capabilities for productivity, creativity, and decision-making. Topics include prompt engineering, bias detection, ethical reasoning, privacy and data protection, human-AI collaboration, and visual literacy. Students will use generative AI tools to analyze data, create charts, parse information from articles, and produce flowcharts, mindmaps, and timelines. They will also explore image generation, learning to identify visual bias and create graphics that complement written content and summarize complex ideas.A central emphasis of the course is learning to evaluate AI outputs-verifying accuracy, checking completeness and logic, and revising for purpose and audience-while maintaining clear accountability for final work and following responsible-use expectations (including protecting sensitive information and adhering to applicable rules). By the end of the course, students will be able to evaluate AI systems critically, apply AI tools across academic and professional domains, and contribute thoughtfully to conversations about the role of AI in society. Capstone projects and real-world case studies anchor the course, ensuring students graduate not only AI-literate but AI-ready.
First course in abstract mathematical structures with emphasis on material needed for applications to computer science. Introduction to different number systems, data types, computer arithmetic, Boolean algebra, direct and indirect proofs, and mathematical induction. Lecture and Recitation.
This course presents the student with an understanding of information security programming and script writing utilizing Python and other scripting languages. Prerequisite(s); if any: Permission of Instructor.
Fundamental concepts of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) with a focus on problem-solving, efficiency, and real-world applications. Students will explore key algorithms such as sorting, searching, recursion, hashing; and implement essential data structures such as stacks, queues, linked lists, hash tables, trees, and graphs, while emphasizing code efficiency and complexity analysis. May be taken concurrently with CSC 301
Advanced concepts in computer science. Individual independent study based on a plan of study submitted by the student and approved by the instructor and the school dean. An appropriate major project will be expected to be completed.
