This course moves progressively through individual, group, and organizational levels of behavior drawing on concepts and practices from the field of Organizational Behavior (OB). It also examines the interrelationship of behavioral phenomena among these levels. Studying OB provides a basic understanding of one’s own and others’ behavior, particularly in teams. It enhances students’ ability to communicate and work effectively with others. This course serves as a capstone course in the Organizational Leadership program. Students complete the SCPS Portfolio they have been assembling throughout their program. The portfolio provides students with an opportunity to look at the past, present, and future. Students reflect on personal growth and development during their program of study. Students also demonstrate ability to integrate knowledge and skills acquired throughout the programs by completing an integrative paper that addresses leadership, ethics, organizational analysis, self-leadership, diversity, reflections, and an action plan. The portfolio concludes with a professional development plan wherein students identify goals for continued professional growth and lifelong learning.
