Students from all disciplines are invited to participate in an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach to entrepreneurial ventures associated with the environment. Students will be immersed in entrepreneurship activities such as evaluating business opportunities, developing a business plan with appropriate financials, executing market research, creating/implementing marketing strategies, developing new products, and planning/executing sales. The entrepreneurship activities will be completed in the context of a real-world environmental business venture and will often include cross-campus collaborations. Students will learn the science and management of the associated environmental issue in order to better understand and promote the business and will analyze business aspects based on the triple bottom line (people, planet, profit). Communication with stakeholders, collaborators, and customers is an essential aspect of this course.
