Semester Credit Hour(s) 3 In this course, students will learn how to perform advanced information processing tasks using Microsoft Word. Students will also practice their keyboarding skills through timed tests and apply this learning to complete assignments in a timely manner.
VOIM 111Office Applications: Presentations and Publishing
Semester Credit Hour(s) 3 Students will develop proficiency in using presentation software including Microsoft PowerPoint to create professional presentations. Students will use current tools to create, edit, and present projects in a business environment. Students will learn how to develop visual aids incorporating graphics, video, and other tools to accompany presentations. Students will be prepared to take the MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) Certification Exam for PowerPoint.

Semester Credit Hour(s) 3 Students explore the more advanced concepts utilized in spreadsheet software and database technology. A continuation of the students’ proficiency development using the integrated office suite is accomplished through the application of advanced skills. Students will learn the core knowledge and skills assessed in the MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) Certification exam for Excel.
Semester Credit Hour(s) 3 Students explore data entry and analysis concepts utilized in spreadsheet software. Students will learn how to format spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel and communicate the results of their analyses using visuals and Excel tools. Methods of automating processes in Excel will also be covered, including formulas, functions, and macros. Students will learn the core knowledge and skills assessed in the MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) certification exam for Excel.

Emphasis is on providing an overview of current roles and responsibilities of administration in both a real and virtual environment. Students will utilize current technology to demonstrate workplace competencies in the areas of office equipment, procedures and interpersonal office skills.
