Credit(s) 3 Be WISE courses are student-focused learning communities designed to guide students through the transitions and milestones of the first year of college. The course supports students as they adjust to a greater degree of independence and rise to academic challenges by helping them gain access to and learn to utilize campus resources while building meaningful relationships with faculty, classmates, and peer leaders. Be WISE communities are discussion-driven and provide first-year students with an ideal forum for processing the transition into college by combining classroom discussion, traditional instruction, application-based activities, intensive advising, and project-based learning.
Credit(s) 1 This hands-on seminar is required of provisionally-admitted first-year students and first-year students in academic jeopardy. The seminar focuses on units designed to help students build skill sets needed for academic success. The class emphasizes participation and the use of College resources.
