AIM 4000What Does AI Want?4

Offered: Every fall semester What do we want from AI—and what might it want from us? Who else might be listening when we talk with AI? Should it have rights? Would it be responsible if something went wrong? Does it make sense to consider the well-being of AI? We’ll investigate different frameworks and framing narratives to put together some of the puzzle pieces regarding what AI is now and what it might become in the future. Through simulations, AI projects, and discussion, we’ll ask the hard questions about what it means to be human, posthuman, and transhuman in a world shared with intelligent machines.
