Topics will include billing and coding for services provided, financial environment of healthcare organizations, legal and regulatory influences on health care, revenue from health care services, managed care organizations, financial reporting, and analyses processes in different healthcare entities.
A concentration in the financial management aspects of healthcare organizations. This course will cover the following topics for students interested in the healthcare administration arena: strategic financial planning concepts and processes, costing processes in healthcare organizations, control functions of healthcare managers, capital project analysis, consolidations and mergers in healthcare organizations, capital formation, and cash management.
