CORE III - Junior/Senior Capstone3

Core III is an integrative course which should be completed senior year (or junior year for students in 3+ accelerated programs). Core III is a capstone which synthesizes all core curriculum goals. Capstones may be created by the major or may also be interdisciplinary in nature. Capstones may involve community engagement, research, internships, or co-curricular experiences. A major project should be completed which requires students to both act on a project and complete reflections on the impact of their work and general education experience and should include collaborative work and leadership. The course will also include modules on resume writing/interviewing/etc. Finally, financial well-being modules will be included as students transition to work or graduate school should be addressed.​ Fall, Spring, Summer

CORE II - Civic Responsibility and Citizenship3

In CORE II, students will consider what civic responsibility looks like in both local and global communities. They will explore responsible citizenship and the complex social, cultural, political, economic, and historical contexts which affect the world. This course will prepare students for our international, multicultural society and encourage them to be stewards of change working to find solutions to global problems. Students will be asked to consider, across a broad range of subjects, how their engagement in local, regional, statewide, national and/or international affairs impacts society and the environment. MGMT 398A/ 399A - Internship in Healthcare Management3

An internship within a health services type of organization that meets the approval of the School of Business internship coordinator. The junior or senior student will work in either a paid or unpaid work assignment that gets him//her acquainted with a health services organization. Students will keep an internship log, read a book related to the internship and write a book critique on it, and provide a synthesis report to the internship coordinator and host organization supervisor at the conclusion of the internship. MGMT 398A, worth one credit, consists of the Internship Project and is graded as A-F by the Internship Coordinator/Professor, while MGMT 399A worth two credits, is the Supervised Experience portion of the experience and is granted either a “pass” or “fail” grade.

MLSC xxx - Leadership Laboratory0

A practical experience designed for the attainment and application of leadership principles. Concurrently scheduled in conjunction with all Military Science courses, provides for practical challenges in personal accomplishment, both physical and mental, and for development of team work and leadership. MLSC xxx - Summer Camp0

Attend a six-week summer camp upon completion of the first year of the Advanced Course. Time at camp is devoted to practical application of principles and theories taught during the preceding school year. While at camp, each student receives lodging, subsistence, uniforms, medical care, reimbursement for travel, and pay in amount of one-half pay of second lieutenant per month.
