Designed so the student will learn how to communicate, in a homiletical form, the truth contained in a selected passage of scripture, this course will stress scripture analysis, exposition, and modern application.
(A continuation of PM3437) An advanced course in Pastoral Counseling, this study is aimed at helping the student learn how to handle difficult counseling situations. The student will learn when referrals are necessary. Helpful Christian and/or government services in the field of counseling will be reviewed. (Prerequisite course: PM3437) 125
This course is designed for those students who intend to spend a part of their active ministry as Youth Ministers or Youth Sponsors. Instruction is provided in the organization and the administration of an effective youth program in the local church. (This course may be taken for Christian Education credit.)
An advanced preaching course which develops a planned program of preaching, recognizing and using special occasions for preaching the Gospel. Special occasions, various types of events, the church year, and the general needs of a congregation will be considered in the planning.
This is a basic course that teaches students the fundamental techniques of counseling, the qualifications of a good counselor, diverse areas that require counseling, and the valuable use of Scripture in counseling. General attitudes toward counseling will be discussed, with the major emphasis upon the counseling a minister does with his congregation.

This course is designed to inspire & improve the student's skill in teaching and/or preaching the different genres and the great Biblical themes from the Old Testament. Attention will be given to reading texts in their historical, literary, & theological context, developing passages into usable outlines & manuscripts for sermon & lesson plans, which the student may then use to teach and/or preach, and will help students further explore & develop their spiritual gifts & academic skills in serving the teaching & preaching needs of the church.
This course is designed to guide the student in the use of sound exegetical and homiletical principles especially relevant to preaching and teaching from the New Testament. The various genre of New Testament literature will be examined. The class will investigate different types of New Testament texts and learn to develop expository sermons from these texts.
A directed course of study in the area of Christian ministries for the qualified student who desires to pursue study in an area of ministries not covered in the regular curriculum.
This course allows the student to make an ordered presentation, in written form, of his findings in PM4067 Readings in Preaching/Pastoral Ministry. 126
