18 courses with the subject CE, each shown exactly as we captured it from the college's catalog, with every element we hold. Where the wording looks broken, that is our reading of the catalog, not the college's text.
CE 212Construction Materials3
Study of the behavior and physical properties of basic construction materials. Topics include mineral aggregates, Portland cement concrete, masonry, wood, metals, and other materials.
Laboratory to support CE 212 Construction Materials. Laboratory testing to evaluate the properties, quality, and performance of aggregates, concrete, steel, wood, and other construction materials.
Development of land surveying skills necessary for the design, layout, and construction of civil engineering projects including data collection and computations, field methods and layout, and legal issues.
Lab to support CE 222 Geomatics and Surveying. Field surveying exercises including the operation of levels, transits, and other modern surveying equipment.
CE 247Civil Engineering Graphics and Building Information Modeling3
This course is an introduction to civil engineering drawings, graphics, sketching, and 3D modeling. Students will be introduced to operational procedures and usage of AutoCAD and Revit software used in the AEC profession.
Calculation of design loads and load paths for buildings and other structures to determine support reactions, internal member forces, and structural displacements of statically determinate and indeterminate structural systems. Introduction of design principles for concrete, steel, and wood structures.
CE 320Transportation and Infrastructure Engineering3
An introduction to the planning and design of transportation infrastructure assets. Social, economic, safety, and engineering issues impacting transportation are examined. Interactions between users, vehicles, and the infrastructure will be addressed. The expanding use of technology to enhance transportation systems will be examined.
Application of mechanical and physical properties of soils and their relation to soil action in civil engineering problems including the design of embankments, retaining walls, foundations, and other selected geotechnical design applications.
Overview of environmental impacts of civil engineering and construction projects including societal, environmental, and occupational hazards and liability.
The completion of, or concurrent enrollment in ENGR 350 . Credits: 3
CE 400Construction Project Management3
The study of construction procedures and administration process using the latest construction management technologies and methods to explain typical project management functions and documentation.
Introductory course covering temporary structural supports, formwork, and concrete. Areas of concentration include steel, timber, concrete, and masonry.
Design of water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems and appurtenances including an introduction to the design and operation of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Group design project of civil engineering systems requiring synthesis, data gathering, preliminary investigation, master planning, conceptual designs, layouts, support studies, cost estimates and report writing.
