CPSC 1135Diagnostics for Computer3
Systems and Hardware: Introduces students to information technology concepts in learning necessary processes and procedures to run diagnostics, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain computer operating systems, hardware, and network technologies. Using data management, the Internet, applications, and logical design methods will be applied to assist in conducting diagnostics and analyses for solutions. Enables students to enhance their hands-on skills through computing projects, simulations, and critical thinking scenarios. In addition, this course aids in preparing students for A+ Essentials and examination. 3 hours lecture and discussion,
Teaches students the basics of programming computers using Python and covers the basics of constructing a program from a series of simple instructions in Python. Explores how to use Python built-in data structures such as lists, dictionaries, and tuples to perform data analysis. Introduces the core syntax, commands, and data structures of the Python programming language. The course has no prerequisites and avoids all but the simplest mathematics. Once a student completes this course, they will be ready to take more advanced programming courses. 3 hours lecture and discussion, 3 credits. Online only; not offered every year.
students fundamental data structures using Python. Covers data structures which allow for the storage of vast quantities of data, as well as efficient access to and modification of said data. Students learn what a data structure is, how to perform a range of operations on them, and introduces the study of algorithms as it pertains to the covered data structures. Prerequisites: CPSC 1140, IT 1120 and MATH 2150. 3 hours lecture and discussion, 3 credits. Online only; not offered every year.
introduction to data science in Python. You’ll use advanced visualization and predictive modeling tools to turn raw data into actionable insights. You will also learn how to use SQL to navigate databases. 3 credits. 215 Keystone College
intended as a continuation of Data Science I. This course takes a deep dive into machine learning models, natural language processing, and time series in Python.
Considers theories and current topics of human- computer interaction, including types of interfaces, techniques for designing interfaces, methods for evaluating interface success (usability testing), and principles of accessible design. Spring, 3 hours lecture and hands on assignments,
Covers important interface commands and programming techniques for writing a broad range of computer video games including how to setup, organize projects and 3D utilization, from character importation to scripting and audio. Students apply knowledge gained and develop projects with a professional game development engine. Spring,
hours to buy a product online due to slow load speeds. That's the world without efficient algorithms. Algorithms are crucial for many everyday applications, such as enabling GPS systems to find the best routes and online stores to load quickly. In this course, you'll uncover the magic behind algorithms, learning divide-and- conquer, dynamic programming, and greedy algorithms. By the end, you'll build scalable applications that won't break.
Provides students the skill necessary to configure, deploy and support client operating systems on modern computer networks. Provides in-depth, hands-on training on a current network operating system to prepare the students for expected industry situations. demonstration, discussion, and hands-on assignments,
