HNRS 302Honors Thesis Preparation 1 SH

The course is dedicated to preparation for the completion of the capstone thesis project required by all Honors students when enrolled in HNRS 401 & 402. Students will share, revise, and refine possible thesis ideas with their classmates and the Honors Program Director. To prepare for their thesis project, students will select a primary faculty research mentor, narrow in on a thesis research topic, and form a thesis committee (consisting of the primary mentor plus one to two additional faculty or staff members). Students should work with their research mentor(s) to complete the main deliverable for this course which is a written thesis proposal/prospectus outlining the thesis project. The thesis project developed during this course may build upon a previous project, an expansion upon an assignment associated with a course, or a new project entirely. This course is only for students in the Honors Scholar Program. Students must pass this course with a C- or better to graduate from the Program.
