This course centers on immersive, experiential learning using travel as the primary mode of instruction. Students engage directly with diverse communities, environments, and cultural contexts to develop global competencies essential for living and working in an interconnected world. Through structured travel experiences, students will develop global awareness, understand interconnectedness and interdependence across cultures and systems, and build skills for effective cross-cultural interaction. The course emphasizes observation, reflection, and critical analysis of real-world contexts, fostering personal growth through direct engagement with people, places, and perspectives different from their own. Students will practice humility, empathy, respect, and genuine curiosity as they navigate unfamiliar environments, challenge their own ethnocentric frameworks, and build meaningful relationships across cultural boundaries. Through daily field work, guided reflection, and collaborative learning, students will connect their lived experiences to broader global issues and recognize how their own life circumstances relate to events and decisions around the world.
