AUCT 101Audience Communications and Bid Calling 3:3:0
Covers the principles and techniques of developing effective interpersonal communication with individuals, groups and audiences. The basics of bid calling are taught, as well as the auctioneer’s “chant”. Enrollment is restricted to students in the Auctioneering diploma.
AUCT 102Procurement and Appraisal of Personal Property 3:3:0
Covers the principles of obtaining merchandise for the auction and appraisal as it applies to antiques, modern household goods, farm equipment, heavy equipment, automobiles, livestock, coins, jewelry, art and collectibles. Enrollment is restricted to students in the Auctioneering diploma.
AUCT 103Procurement and Appraisal of Real Estate 3:3:0
Covers the principles and/or practices associated with obtaining, appraising and marketing of real estate at auction. Enrollment is restricted to students in the Auctioneering diploma.
Examines the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Law Code, which regulates Auctioneers and auctioneering. The federal and state statutes, which govern the operations of all phases of auctioneering, are studied and the National and PA Auctioneer's Associations' Code of Ethics are introduced and discussed. Enrollment is restricted to students in the Auctioneering diploma.
Addresses the procedures and practices necessary to prepare, conduct and conclude an auction. The course includes a 60-hour practicum with a PA licensed auctioneer as stipulated by the PA Board of Auctioneer Examiners. The 60-hour practicum can be completed on site and/or online. A course fee is required. Enrollment is restricted to students in the Auctioneering diploma.
