MLAN 320Integrated Inquiry in Culture and Language3

A course for international students designed to facilitate exploration of the various linguistic communities encountered in the United States through advanced interdisciplinary inquiry. Students who graduated from a high school in a non-English-speaking country will integrate themes from several disciplines to further improve their interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational communication in English.

MLAN 360Artistic Representations of Cross-Cultural Topics3

This course examines a global issue as it is represented in different artistic works, such as literature, music, art, or film. Through an analysis of those works, the course will emphasize how this issue has developed in cross cultural contexts that span communities and historical periods. The selected issue will be situated within the instructor’s field of expertise. All works in this MLAN course will be taught in translation.
