ersity This is a student teaching experience for those seeking an add-on certification in Special Education. This modified student teaching experience includes supervision by University personnel as well as participation in an online seminar class. 1.00 This course examines the characteristics of individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Students will explore the assessment and evaluation process for identifying ASD, current trends in teaching approaches and interventions, and strategies for supporting the families of students with AS 3.00 This course focuses on the design and implementation of assessment and program protocols for learners on the autism spectrum. The connection between on-going assessment and its role in individualized program development will be emphasized. The student will be presented with data-based decision-making models which will guide program development. Field Experience is required. 3.00 This course will address the broad scope of issues relative to effective communication, behavioral and social competence for students on the autism spectrum. The course will analyze the interrelationship between communication and behavior. Language development, pragmatics, augmentative and alternative communication systems will be presented. Field Experience is required. 3.00 A decision-making framework based on empirically based interventions that allow for the design of effective instructional systems will be emphasized in this course. Practices and procedures that address the core features of autism allowing for application across diverse instructional settings will be presented. The course will emphasize strategies to enhance collaboration with paraprofessionals as well as the representatives of services received by agencies outside of the school realm. Students will examine the social forces that shape the sport industry in the United States and internationally and the influence the sport industry has on society. Students will critically examine common understandings of sport from economic, historical, political, and sociological perspectives. Topics include international cultures in sport, violence and deviant behavior in sport, social stratification in sport, sport education, and societal beliefs, traditions, customs, and the sport subculture. The demonstration of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills will be emphasized throughout the course. 3.00 The ability to generate sources of revenue continues to be the most important skill for individuals working in the sport industry. Students will learn how to develop the skills essential to effectively build sales and revenue within a sport business and leverage the various revenue producing opportunities within a sports organization. The course will explore critical factors in successfully negotiating, growing, and renewing sales with both consumers and corporate partners through exploration of techniques used to sell and generate revenue in the sports business cycle. Topics include sales proposal development, sponsor solicitation, licensing rights, new business development, endorsements and merchandising, commercialization of technology, and corporate partnerships. Students will build an integrated marketing plan for a sport organization and event by first describing how the five P's of sport marketing are applied in sport. 3.00 This course is designed to prepare the prospective sport manager with an overview of the major financial issues facing the sport industry. An analysis of the following areas will be undertaken: sources of revenue for sports organizations, a comparison of public and private sector funding in sports, and investment of public resources into private sporting facilities. Students will analyze financial concepts and theories and their application in the professional, intercollegiate, recreational, and commercial sport industries. Topics include revenue and expenses of professional, intercollegiate, and private sport industries, issues affecting these revenues and expenses, fundraising at the intercollegiate level, ownership in sport, and public and private funding for non-profit sport programs. 3.00

Student will analyze the legal and regularity aspects, elements, and relationships for all constituents participating in sports; administrators, coaches, athletes, agents, vendors, sponsors, faculty managers and owners, and spectators. Seminal court cases are discussed. Students will examine relevant issues in sport law through case studies and in class court sessions. 3.00 port O This course examines the organization and administration of operations in professional sports, intercollegiate and interscholastic athletics, recreation and fitness, and sport broadcasting and promotion. The focus of each industry studied is on how organizations in the industry plan and structure their organizations in an effort to meet their goals and competitively position themselves within the industry. Each organization is studied in terms of its mission, planning and decision-making process, budgeting and allocation of resources, and policies governing the implementation of plans for human resources, production, marketing, and product development. These industries were chosen because they represent the diversity of sport management applications and offer the opportunity for comparative study.
