This course also includes coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the global impact of the pandemic and global vaccination rates; the impact of socioeconomic factors on COVID outcomes; the disease’s impact on mental health; the U.S. government role in managing the pandemic, and more. 3 credit hours
This course offers a comprehensive practical framework for understanding the forces and organizations of public health today. Through engaging, illustrative real world examples, and the current political, economic, and cultural news of the day, students will gain a clear understanding of the scope of today’s public health problems and possible solutions. 3 credit hours

Fall/Spring/Summer A healthcare administration internship is a short-term, healthcare administration-related work experience designed to allow students to gain meaningful, pre-professional work experience in their field of interest prior to graduation. Internships require students to meet periodically with a faculty supervisor, provide a written deliverable, and participate in an end-of-internship evaluation. Students are required to spend a minimum of 120 hours work on site. Grading will be Pass/Fail.
Junior standing and departmental approval of each student participant’s individual program. Students must have earned 60 or more credits and a minimum of 2.5 cumulative grade point average at the time of application. 3 credit hours
