Fall/Spring The recital attendance requirement is an integral and essential part of a music student’s education. Through the continued attendance at music program events, students will gain exposure to musical literature, demonstrate support for their peers and faculty, and accrue vital understanding of performance etiquette and procedure. Spring This course is an in‐depth examination of publishing, licensing, and copyright procedures used by the professional creative, administrator and producer. Special emphasis is placed on discussion and research regarding contemporary controversies in the creative industries, including the use of generative artificial intelligence for creative processes. Applied problem solving, specialized language use, and legal responsibility are explored and discussed. 3 credit hours
The Independent Study Program affords an opportunity for the student who seeks to undertake a well-defined research project. While the student conducts this work under the guidance of a faculty member of his choosing, the project is carried out in an independent manner without regular class meetings. Effective independent study is characterized by a reduction in formal instruction and an increase in the individual student’s responsibility in the learning process.
