Fall/Spring Students in this course will conduct field experiences with teachers in K-12 classrooms. Placements will be assigned by the Field Services Division and will match the grade band and/or content area of students’ certification preparation areas. Students will be expected to utilize this time block to carry out required field experience activities. These experiences may include interacting with teachers and students, designing lessons and assessments, implementing instruction, and assisting in various ways within the classroom. The course will serve as a forum for critical analysis, discussion, and reflection of students’ experiences in schools.

Fall/Spring This course will offer an opportunity for students to reflect on all aspects of their student teaching experience in a collaborative environment. The importance of professional standards and professional growth is woven through these interactions. Practical information regarding employment, interviewing, applying for teaching certification, and accessing career development opportunities available to alumni are shared. Grading will be Pass/Fail.

Fall/Spring Under the supervision of college and cooperating teacher staff, the student engages in planning, teaching, and evaluating classroom learning activities in a school setting. Focus upon integration of all aspects of the practicum is an integral part of this course. Placement during the semester will be in a school setting within the candidate’s area of certification.
