Exercise science encompasses a variety of sub-disciplines, each aimed at integrating the unique demands of movement and the basic science associated with the sub-discipline. Content covered follows objectives of the National Standards of Athletic Coaches and includes coaching philosophy, sport psychology, sport pedagogy, sport physiology, sport management and a realistic perspective of coaching. The Human Performance Internship provides a means for students in any general or transfer discipline a means to integrate classroom theory with workplace practice in the discipline of study. Students will be placed in a working/learning environment that provides for structured learning, workplace experience, and mentoring by a professional.
