14 courses with the subject WELD, each shown exactly as we captured it from the college's catalog, with every element we hold. Where the wording looks broken, that is our reading of the catalog, not the college's text.
WELD 1650Print Reading and Welding Symbols3
Students interpret welding prints used in the welding industry to include welding symbols, sketching, view representation, orthographic projection, measurement formulas, basic layout, and distortion control. Students build skills in interpreting layout, cutout, and assembly of weldments.Course Fees: $50.00
Students learn to set up equipment and perform cutting and gouging operations utilizing the oxy fuel, air carbon arc, and plasma arc cutting processes. This course also aligns the principles of blueprint reading with safe metal cutting practices as well as general industrial safety according to the American Welding Society Standards. Students in this course are also able to earn the OSHA-10 certification. Course Fees: $125.00
Students gain knowledge about equipment and setup, electrodes, and electrode selection used in shielded metal arc welding. Utilizing the American Welding Society standards of acceptability, students develop manual skills necessary to produce quality single and multiple pass fillet and surfacing welds in all positions using filler metals such as low hydrogen, non-low hydrogen, and iron powder electrodes. Course Fees: $300.00
Student build upon prior knowledge and skills obtained in WELD 1755 related to equipment and setup, electrodes, and electrode selection used in shielded metal arc welding. Students perform multiple pass groove welds with backing plate in all positions as defined by the industry standards of acceptability. Students demonstrate proper testing preparation and execution of industry recognized qualification procedures specified by the American Welding Society (AWS).Course Fees: $200.00

WELD 1770Gas Metal - Flux Core Arc Welding4
In this course, students will develop advanced competencies in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). Students will learn to set up, troubleshoot, and apply these welding processes to low-carbon steel across all positions. Students will gain hands-on experience producing surface, fillet, and groove welds using both hard-wire and flux-cored wire. Students will also interpret filler metal classifications, inspect weld profiles, and prepare materials for destructive testing. Throughout the course, students will apply American Welding Society (AWS) standards to ensure work meets professional industry expectations.Course Fees: $200.00
In this course, students will build advanced Gass Tungsten Arc Weldiing (GTAW) (TIG) welding skills by working hands-on with ferrous and nonferrous materials in all positions. Students will learn to set up equipment, troubleshoot performance issues, and apply welding techniques that align with American Welding Society (AWS) standards. Throughout the course, students will inspect weld quality, prepare materials for destructive testing, and evaluate weldments for compliance with industry expectations. By the end of the course, students will demonstrate competency in the ability to produce welds that meet professional AWS performance criteria.Course Fee: $200.00
