HUM 304Humanities at Work I 3
HUM 304 serves as the first of the two-semester sequence (HUM 304 & HUM 305) focusing on developing a working definition of “the humanities,” researching humanities career pathways, and drawing connections between the internship site project and humanities ways of knowing.
HUM 304L serves as the first of the two-semester sequence (HUM 304L & HUM 305L). As the humanities-based lab for HUM 304,HUM 304L has two functions: to enable a full-program gathering and to give students course credit for the 5 hours of learning represented by time spent “in the field.”
HUM 305, the second of a two-semester sequence (HUM 304 & HUM 305), focuses on re-sparking curiosity, the process of completing a community-engaged, humanities-, team-, and project-based research project, and gathering with local community partners for an end-of-the-year showcase.
HUM 305L, the second of a two-semester sequence (HUM 304L & HUM 305L) serves two functions: to enable a full-program gathering, including a culminating showcase of projects, and to give students course credit for the 5 hours of learning represented by time spent “in the field,” at an intern’s site.
