This is a three-credit introductory course in environmental economics. This course will cover such traditional environmental topics as pollution control, externalities and public lands. Issues of sustainability of the current economic system with respect to fossil fuel use and environmental destruction will be addressed. A balance between theory and institutional background will be presented in this course.
