Ice Field Class (4CR) (3L, 2LB) Of all of the environmental factors which shape the physical world in which we live, the snow and the ice (cryosphere) component is probably the least understood and appreciated by the layman and the scientist alike. At the same time, our existence is tremendously impacted in both positive and negative ways by these factors. Students will be required to attend field components including two local weekend excursions and a week- long field course in a location to be determined. Some field work may be physically strenuous; however, participation in these activities will be optional. Other approved exercises may be substituted if necessary. instructor.
