The course focuses on formal elements and content, as well as how genres reflect industrial and cultural elements, such as changes in technology, economics, and politics. COMS 130 or CINE 110 or Permission of Instructor. Cross-Listed: COMS 320 . Exploration of animation studies. Students will look at different examples of animation from across various time periods and cultures. They will learn how to analyze animation in terms of its form and industry, as well as its connection to culture/society. Ultimately, students will learn how to see and analyze animation as a unique and powerful form of visual communication.
