EFND 549CS Mentorship A (0) EFND 553CS Mentorship B (0) Career Switcher Elementary Education (PreK-3 or PreK-6) Licensure Certificate (27 credit hours) The Career Switcher Alternative Route to Licensure certificate is designed to enable individuals holding a bachelor’s degree and with various occupational and life experiences to become classroom teachers, thereby increasing the quantity and diversity of applicants to the profession. The Career Switcher Elementary Education certificate program are NOT degree seeking programs. The certificate alone will lead to Virginia licensure and the Certificate of Graduate Studies (CGS). However, if an applicant wishes to pursue a Master’s degree, he or she may do so in the M.Ed. in Teaching for Career Switchers. The Career Switcher Elementary Education certificate program leads to teacher certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia upon the successful completion of all program requirements.
