General Counseling & Psychological Studies Concentration The General Counseling & Psychological Studies concentration offers students the flexibility to design a concentration that aligns with their unique interests and career goals. This concentration consists of four courses (12 credit hours) selected from Regent MHPS concentration courses. At least one of the courses must differ from those included in an already established concentration. By choosing this option, students can “mix and match” courses to create a customized plan of study that best supports their professional development. Adding a new “General” concentration allows students to choose their own electives. This option would provide greater flexibility, reduce the number of petitions, and minimize situations where students share the same concentration but have taken different courses. Requirements: 1. Students must complete 9 credit hours from the following list: • EHEA 504 Student Services Administration (3) • GPSY 540 Life Span Psychology (3) • GPSY 553 Industrial-Organizations Psychology (3) • LMOL 605 Organization Communication, Conflict Resolution, and Negotiation (3) • MHPS 624 Marriage & Relationship Counseling (3) • MHPS 626 Life Coaching (3) • MHPS 630 Christian Counseling (3) • MHPS 645 Concepts of Family Systems (3) • MHPS 652 Group Counseling (3) • MHPS 665 Grief & Bereavement (3) • MHPS 672 Addiction Intervention (3) • MHPS 767 Treating PTSD, Compassion Fatigue & Complex Trauma (3) • EHEA 702 Role and Mission of the Christian College & University (3) • MHPS 724 Appraisal and Psychometrics (3) • MHPS 730 Psychodynamic Approaches (3) • MHPS 731 Psychodynamic Approach Development I (1) • MHPS 732 Psychodynamic Approach Development II (1) • MHPS 733 Psychodynamic Approach Development III (1) • MHPS 734 Psychodynamic Approach Development IV (1) • MHPS 735 Psychodynamic Approach Development V (1) • MHPS 736 Psychodynamic Approach Development VI (1) 2.
