This course prepares students to assume administrative positions within fire and emergency service organizations and examines roles and responsibilities of administrators, manage- ment and leadership theory and practices, and common adminis- trative functions. This course covers issues relating to a department wide hazardous materials program management, includes issues that are pertinent to officers and managers including regulations and requirements for hazardous materials preparedness, response, storage, trans- portation, handling and use and the response to terrorist attacks. and Administration Lec. 3./Credit 3. This course examines the impact of public policy on the fire service. It includes a review of the American Legal System with a focus on how laws are enacted, the formation of public policy and the leg- islative and political process and how the processes may impact the fire service.
