180 Hampton University Online TOTAL 30 TOTAL CREDITS 60 Associate of Arts in Religious Studies The goal of this introductory degree in Religious Studies is to pro- vide students an organized and scholarly opportunity to explore the diversity of the religions of the world within their particular histori- cal, social and cultural contexts. The Associate of Arts degree leads to the attainment of the Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies at the completion of an additional sixty hours of coursework. A critical examination of major theoretical approaches to understanding personality, including psychoanalytic, cognitive, and humanistic perspec- tives. Prerequisite: PSYO 203.
A survey of the major theories of human and/or animal motivation. Prerequi- site: PSYO 203, 208.
Study of classical and operant conditioning, verbal and motor learning, forget- ting and transfer. Prerequisite: PSYO 203, 208.
An analysis of historical, theoretical, psychological, social, and genetic factor involved in sensory and perceptual process. Prerequisites: PSYO 208; BIO 103.
The study of the biological basis of behavior. Topics covered include the anatomy of the nervous system, neural transmission, psychopharmacology, sleep, stress, emotion and psychological disorders and their biological treat- ments. Prerequisites: PSYO 203 and 208; BIOO 103 or higher.
